Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of pleasedtobe, including accounts, profiles, adult content, social features, direct messaging, moderation, and related services.

Version 2026-09-30-r2Effective September 30, 2026

Pre-launch legal notice

This policy reflects the current pleasedtobe product and safety design. pleasedtobe is still in pre-launch development. The final legal operator identity, legal contact information, jurisdictional provisions, and provider-specific disclosures must be reviewed and finalized by qualified counsel before public launch.

1. Who may use pleasedtobe

pleasedtobe is an adults-only social platform. You must be at least 18 years old, be legally permitted to use the service where you live, and complete any age-verification process required by pleasedtobe before entering the community.

You may not create or use an account on behalf of a person who is under 18, allow a minor to access your account, or attempt to bypass age verification, account restrictions, or safety controls.

2. Your account

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep your account information reasonably current.
  • Keep your password and session access secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
  • Do not sell, transfer, rent, share, or otherwise provide your account to another person.
  • Do not create accounts to evade a block, restriction, moderation action, message-request decline, or account suspension.
  • Usernames and display names must not impersonate another person or falsely imply affiliation, authority, or endorsement.

3. Adult and expressive content

pleasedtobe permits adult-oriented expression only within the limits of these Terms, the Content Policy, the Consent Policy, and applicable law. Content that is sensitive, NSFW, or explicit must be labeled accurately using the platform's content-labeling controls.

Adult content is never an exception to consent, age, ownership, safety, or legality requirements. Content involving minors, non-consensual intimate material, stolen or leaked intimate material, exploitation, threats, or other prohibited material is not allowed.

4. Your content and profile

You retain ownership of content you create and upload, subject to any rights held by other people appearing in that content. You are responsible for having all rights and permissions necessary to post, display, distribute, or link to your content.

To operate pleasedtobe, you grant the service a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, resize, format, moderate, and otherwise use your content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, improve, enforce, and administer the service. This license ends when the content is deleted from pleasedtobe systems, subject to reasonable backup, legal, safety, and moderation retention needs.

Profile customization may include text, images, galleries, links, polls, music links or embeds, featured profiles, posts, and other modules. You remain responsible for what you add to your profile, including third-party links and embedded media.

5. Messaging and social interactions

pleasedtobe provides following, blocking, search, profile discovery, direct messaging, and message-request controls. You must respect another user's privacy selections, blocks, message-request decisions, and other expressed boundaries.

Attempting to contact someone through alternate accounts after they block you, or attempting to evade a message-request decline or retry period, is prohibited.

6. Prohibited conduct

  • Using the service for unlawful conduct, fraud, scams, malware, credential theft, or deceptive impersonation.
  • Harassing, threatening, stalking, coercing, blackmailing, or intimidating another person.
  • Uploading or distributing content you do not have the right or consent to share.
  • Sexual content involving, depicting, soliciting, targeting, or representing a person as under 18.
  • Attempting to identify, expose, or publish another person's private information without authorization.
  • Interfering with the service, probing for vulnerabilities without authorization, bypassing technical controls, or abusing APIs or automated systems.
  • Manipulating reports, moderation systems, voting, engagement, or platform features through deceptive or abusive behavior.

7. Third-party services and links

pleasedtobe may display or connect to third-party services, including music providers and external media URLs. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. pleasedtobe does not control third-party availability, content, tracking, or policies.

Providing a third-party link or embed does not mean pleasedtobe endorses the linked service or content.

8. Moderation and enforcement

pleasedtobe may review reports and platform activity and may remove content, restrict features, add account strikes, limit or restrict accounts, or take other reasonable safety actions when platform rules are violated or when action is needed to protect users, the service, or legal compliance.

A report, including a high- or critical-priority report, does not by itself establish that a violation occurred. Priority affects review and triage; it does not automatically determine guilt or punishment.

9. Service changes and availability

pleasedtobe is in active development. Features may change, be added, be removed, or be temporarily unavailable. We may modify safety controls, content rules, storage systems, verification providers, and other service functionality as the product evolves.

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Planned or emergency maintenance, third-party outages, technical failures, or security incidents may affect access.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for violations of these Terms or related policies, for attempts to evade enforcement, for legal or safety reasons, or where continued access would create material risk to users or the service.

Self-service account deletion is not currently implemented in the pre-launch product. A production account-deletion and legal-request process must be finalized before public launch.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, pleasedtobe is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee that user-generated content is accurate, lawful, consensual, authentic, or suitable for you merely because it appears on the service.

You are responsible for your interactions with other users and for deciding what information you disclose. Safety tools reduce risk but cannot eliminate it.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, user-generated content, third-party services, or loss of data, except where such a limitation is prohibited by law.

Final liability caps, governing-law provisions, venue, dispute-resolution terms, and any mandatory jurisdiction-specific notices must be established by qualified counsel before public launch.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as pleasedtobe changes. When a policy version becomes required, the service may require you to review and accept the updated version before continuing to use active community features.
